Marketing Strategies on LinkedIn
To promote your business you have to learn how to leverage the power of LinkedIn. Even though LinkedIn is a marketing tool, the use of it to get sales and promote your business requires knowing how it works. So no matter what your business or industry is, if you can adopt the following ideas to grow your business, then you will be one of the 5% that have learnt how to use LinkedIn.
1. Establishing a strong online presence is a necessity
A strong established presence is required and a necessity as LinkedIn isn’t a database for CVS any longer. Your profile needs to stand out from the crowd so that when a connection reads it they will know right away if what you are offering is a good fit for them. As B2B is the aim here a strong profile will bring you business by showcasing your business, your skill set and professional knowledge.
The first impression your connections will get is your cover image, this needs to have a series of elements to it that allows the visitor to want to connect with you. A strong call to action is needed that includes your company logo and name, website and optional email and phone number.
2. Status Updates
Update your status with relevant information about your role or something interesting happening in the company or even share a joke to entertain but beware, don’t do too many updates maybe 1 or 2 a month. With your update aim for value, show people videos of your company or articles that has been published in magazines, Industry journals or even on the news. Finally make sure visitors can find your contact details to connect with you. Your website, email, Skype and phone number must all be on your profile.
3. Getting your customers and employees to share the news:
Add a follow’ button to your company page and invite your key customers and employees to follow your page. Your employees know everything about your business and would be the first ones to share any new information that you post. Get a little bit more proactive in promoting your page in newsletters, emails and blog posts to encourage your readers to follow your page. Keep the customers on your radar and invite them to webinars from time to time.
4. Recommendations are a good indicator of your reputation:
One thing that is very powerful on LinkedIn is the recommendations section. Invite some of you clients to fill in this part and give you testimonials that be seen by others scanning your profile. We don’t have a lot of time to capture a person’s attention and recommendations are one of the most powerful tools on LinkedIn. Bad reviews sink ships while good reviews launch businesses to the next level. Recommendations proof of excellence.
5. Use a very reputable lead generation companies:
Lead generation is an important part of any business and attracts new clients to the business, and with the right lead generation company, they can help grow your business. Lead generation tools are very useful but only as good as the person using them and the follow up once a prospect is found.
The best way to create new leads is to use a company that has a proven track record and is able to work with you to achieve your goals, and a lead company is only as good as the sales team that you hire to convert the leads. So it is so important that your company has a good sales team to follow up and complete the sales. Follow up follow up follow up is my motto in sales.
